Oh, come on. Heroclix isn't THAT bad, is it?

Other than retirement(which was inevitable) and cards, not a lot has changed in the past couple years.

-We have giant characters now. Personally, I like that we do. Resent me all you want.
-There are no "hooker bombs/sentinel shortboards" any more. I think that is good.
-I didn't really like Super Rares but I think the intent was good. That is, to get some LEs to people who couldn't/didnt want to attend tournaments and keep a distinction between LEs and SRs so that the LEs value doesn't drop.

Geez, I still like to play heroclix. I play at tournaments because everyone I know either quit playing or lives too far away to play. At the tournaments, I've become used to cards and am glad to see that about half the time, people don't use cards cheezily.

I just don't know why angry people have to be angry. :innocent child:

No, the game itself is still fun, but so much of the business end of it keeps sucking the joy right out of it.

Retirement? They swore up and down that they would never ban pieces from tournament play. Enter: Topps. Within a year, retirements are announced.

The game never needed cards, still doesn't. Another Topps gimmick.

Sure, Giants have added an array of options to gameplay, but the addition came too late for many characters that will probably never get redone. And really, did you see Awesome Andy show up on anyone's want list prior to FF, ever? The other thing that is sort of frustrating is that there was already a precedent set by Sentinels and Sinestro. Either they should have fit the Giant type or the Giant type should have been a continuation of BigFigs. It's not like the Giants have had any real solution for booster distribution. A pair of level 7 rares, a flood of them in 3-fig boosters, and now they only show up in limited quantities by mail. Good thinking, WK.

Cheese or whatever will always be. Can't put much blame on WK for that. One could blame the designer, though.

The SR promotion was bad in both theory and execution. It not only killed tourney attendance, but the value of LE's plummetted. It was even worse for Mage Knight.

Sorry to completely dissect your post, Ronfar. Angry? Not so much. Fed up? You bet. Not to the same extent as Colin, though...I do still collect and play HeroClix and probably will well into the future. It's the toys. But if I see something that I don't want to waste my money on, I'm going to let them know it. Colin mentions the last two years as the field of time when the greatest blunders have occurred. Guess how long Topps has owned Wizkids. This October makes 3.
